The atmosphere at the final weigh-in for the Mikaela Mayer vs. Chantelle Cameron bout turned unexpectedly hostile, requiring security intervention to separate the two fighters. What had been a respectful build-up erupted into a fiery exchange of words between the rivals.

Mayer and Cameron locked foreheads on stage, escalating into a verbal confrontation. A visibly fired-up Cameron declared her intention to "smash her head in" ahead of their highly anticipated super-welterweight world title fight in Birmingham.

American fighter Mikaela Mayer, holding the WBA and WBC belts, successfully made weight at 148lbs, three pounds lighter than her previous bout in October 2025. WBO champion Chantelle Cameron (22-1, 8 KOs) weighed in at 147.6lbs for her second fight in the super-welterweight division, following her April victory over Michaela Kotaskova.

This fight is shaping up to be a landmark event in women's boxing. Mayer is a three-weight world champion, while Cameron is renowned for being the only boxer to have defeated Katie Taylor in her professional career.

The animosity at the weigh-in was surprising, given the fighters' previous mutual respect and their smooth negotiation for one of boxing's most significant matchups. The confrontation appeared to be triggered by comments made by Mayer as the two made contact.

"She isn't intimidating me, all that yapping, getting in my face, watch now, watch tomorrow," Cameron stated, addressing Mayer directly. "You're deluded. Shut your mouth, you are so deluded. I didn't say a word, you are making things up because you don't believe in yourself. You're going to get humbled. I'm gonna smash her f****** head in now."

Mayer responded to the unexpected aggression, stating, "She said I'm too slow, but there is no way Chantelle Cameron is faster than me. I didn't know this Chantelle Cameron existed, I like it."

Dubois and Moore also exchange heated words

Elsewhere on the card, a similar tense moment occurred between Caroline Dubois and Amelia Moore during their face-off. Dubois, the WBC and WBO lightweight world champion, weighed in at 134.8lbs and issued a stern warning to her American opponent, stating, "She knows I'm coming to take her head off. Welcome to my world."

Moore countered, asserting, "This is my world. I've been waiting my whole life for this point, my whole life." The American challenger, with a professional record of 4-0, was slightly lighter at 134.4lbs.

Dubois is reportedly on a potential collision course with WBO, WBA, and IBF super featherweight world champion Alycia Baumgardner, who is moving up to Dubois' division to face Elif Nur Turhan on November 8.

Other weigh-in results include Terri Harper (137.8lbs) facing Miranda Reyes (136.6lbs). Jessica Barry (125.6lbs) will compete against Reina Tellez (125.6lbs), who famously stepped in to fight Amanda Serrano on short notice. Tysie Gallagher (121.6lbs) will make her debut against Brandi Robinson (121.6lbs).
