Joe Rogan Proposes Volkanovski vs. Evloev for White House UFC Event
UFC commentator Joe Rogan has expressed significant admiration for Movsar Evloev's recent performance against Lerone Murphy. In the main event of UFC London this past Saturday, Evloev demonstrated a willingness to engage in striking exchanges with knockout artist Murphy, even on opposing territory. The 32-year-old Russian fighter consistently delivered offense, landed more impactful strikes that marked Murphy's face, and secured multiple takedowns, ultimately snapping Murphy's undefeated streak.
After a grueling five-round battle, Evloev concluded the fight strongly, earning a majority decision victory. While some in the MMA community disagreed with the judges' scoring, believing "The Miracle" Murphy deserved the win, Joe Rogan specifically commended Evloev for pursuing a striking contest rather than relying solely on a wrestling-dominant strategy.
During his podcast, Rogan urged the UFC to schedule a featherweight bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Movsar Evloev for June 14, suggesting it would "spice up" the UFC Freedom 250 card, also known as the White House Lawn event. "Evloev was very impressive. The fact that he was able to stand with [Murphy] was very impressive… White House Lawn, let's go. Give the man a couple of months off. We are only in March. It's in June. Common. Spice that card up, baby," Rogan stated.
Lerone Murphy's Post-Fight Reaction: Calls for Evloev's Title Shot
Following his majority decision loss to Movsar Evloev at UFC London, Lerone Murphy displayed remarkable sportsmanship. "The Miracle" called for Evloev to receive the next title opportunity, stating, "One thing I would like to say. Make sure Movsar Evloev gets the title shot. That man deserves it. He is next in line. I will be back, don’t worry."
Meanwhile, Evloev, after solidifying his position as a top featherweight contender, quickly challenged champion Alexander Volkanovski. "Alex [Volkanovski] gently mentioned my name a lot of times, and I am accepting his challenge. Let’s f**king fight. UFC, there are no excuses for not letting me fight for the title. I have nothing to say," Evloev declared.
UFC CEO Dana White, however, has not confirmed Evloev as the next featherweight title challenger. During the post-fight press conference, White commented, "Possibly, yeah. I’m not even thinking about that; the fight just ended. But yeah [Evloev] is in a great position."
