Harry Hardwick Faces Make-or-Break UFC Showdown After Controversial Debut
Harry Hardwick's UFC debut at UFC Paris in September 2025 ended memorably with a first-round stoppage loss to Kaue Fernandes, drawing significant criticism. Some fans even labeled it the "worst performance in UFC history," and even legend Cub Swanson questioned Hardwick's abilities.
Despite the backlash, Hardwick has remained unfazed. In a recent interview, he openly discussed that challenging night in Paris and his highly anticipated upcoming bout against Marwan Rahiki on March 14th in Vegas.
Harry Hardwick: Pressure and Preparation
Reflecting on his past performance, Hardwick acknowledged the heightened pressure surrounding this fight. He noted that his debut was taken on just a week's notice, a stark contrast to his current fight for which he's had a "fantastic training camp." "It's a cutthroat business; if I don't perform, I could be getting sacked," Hardwick admitted, though he added that he's accustomed to high stakes, having headlined shows and fought for titles in Cage Warriors.
Regarding his opponent, Marwan Rahiki, who enters the fight with an undefeated 7-0 record, Hardwick expressed respect. "I believe Rahiki is a fantastic opponent, he comes to fight, he is borderline needlessly aggressive, which is his greatest strength and his greatest weakness," he stated.
Hardwick revealed that he sees exploitable weaknesses in Rahiki's skillset and has a solid game plan prepared. He hinted, "Without going into too much detail, I think his previous opponents have either been too tentative or got too caught up, and I think I can exploit his weaknesses. I have got the discipline to stay in the right zone of the fight."
The luxury of a full training camp has made a significant difference. Three weeks before the fight, Harry flew to Vegas with his brother, former Cage Warriors lightweight champion George Hardwick, and Cage Warriors featherweight contender Leon Armes. They've been training at the prestigious UFC Performance Institute and with fellow North East fighter Davey Grant at Syndicate MMA.
Hardwick spoke highly of his Vegas experience, praising Grant for his support. "Davey has been class, he has really looked after us, it has been great. Camp this time around has been a lot less chaotic," he remarked. He feels "everything has been clicking into place" and contrasts this extended preparation with the minimal time he had for his debut.
With immense pressure on his shoulders, many will be watching closely this Saturday to see if Harry Hardwick can silence his doubters and secure his first crucial UFC victory.
