Gustavo Trujillo Extends Unbeaten Streak with Dominant Knockout
BKB heavyweight champion Gustavo Trujillo showcased his exceptional talent once again, securing another first-round knockout to maintain his pristine record across multiple combat sports. At 'Havoc at the Hilton 3' in Altamonte Springs, Florida, 'The Cuban Assassin' improved his gloved boxing record to an impressive 10-0 with 9 KOs by swiftly defeating Phillip Penson in the opening stanza.
Trujillo applied relentless pressure from the outset, preventing Penson from establishing any rhythm in the ring. A barrage of powerful body shots led to an early stoppage, further solidifying Trujillo's reputation as one of the most compelling heavyweights in both boxing and bare-knuckle boxing.
Reflecting on his performance against Penson, Trujillo emphasized his determination: "I aimed to send another clear message to the heavyweight division. When I step into the ring, I want my energy and power to be unmistakable. My rigorous training paid off, and I knew that consistent aggression would lead to the knockout. Fans crave excitement and action, and that’s what I deliver. I'm grateful for the support and feel this is just the beginning."
Trujillo also spoke passionately about the legacy of Cuban fighters who inspire him:
"I grew up admiring great Cuban pugilists who fueled my dreams. Every fight is for my country and my people. I want the world to witness the strength of Cuban fighters, especially in the heavyweight class. My ultimate goal is straightforward: to make Cuba the home of its first heavyweight world champion."
Gustavo Trujillo: "I'm Ready for Bigger Challenges"
Looking ahead in his ascent within Queensberry Rules boxing, Trujillo stated:
"Each victory proves my place among the world's elite heavyweights. This win propels my momentum and signals my readiness for tougher challenges. I'm building my reputation fight by fight, believing that such wins open doors. My focus remains on climbing the rankings until I contend for a world title."
Regarding his future fight schedule, Trujillo expressed a desire for high activity in 2026:
"I'm eager to return to the ring as soon as possible. I feel strong, confident, and wish to stay active this year. The more I fight, the sharper I become. I'm hungry for more opportunities and ready to keep demonstrating what 'The Cuban Assassin' is all about."
His previous bare-knuckle boxing triumph saw Gustavo Trujillo successfully defend his BKB heavyweight title against former gloved boxing heavyweight champion Lucas Browne.
