Walt Disney Golf recently introduced a new statue of Grumpy, the iconic character from Disney’s classic film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” This statue serves as the gateway to four newly redesigned holes on Disney’s Magnolia golf course, now playfully dubbed “Grumpy’s Gauntlet.”
Positioned beside the tee box of the 14th hole, Grumpy stands guard over the challenging stretch of holes that includes the 15th, 16th, and 17th. This formidable finishing sequence offers a fun yet demanding test for even the most seasoned golfers.
Adding to the thematic elements, Grumpy’s golf bag features a seven-iron, a nod to all the dwarfs, and a replica golf ball complete with the dimple pattern from 1937, the year “Snow White” was released.
Standing approximately six feet tall, the statue is an impressive creation from Walt Disney Imagineering. Crafted from Carrara marble using an AI-powered stone-carving robot, it captures Grumpy’s signature scowl atop a rock. The statue also bears his memorable movie line: “Mark my words, thereโs trouble a-brewin’!” It is anticipated to become a popular spot for golfers to capture memorable photos.
In conjunction with the statue, “Grumpy’s Gauntlet” branded merchandise, including apparel, hats, and various golf accessories and collectibles, is now available at the Magnolia pro shop.
These enhancements are part of ongoing improvements to the Magnolia course, which boasts a storied history with numerous golf legends having graced its fairways and greens. The additions further weave the distinctive Disney storytelling narrative throughout the course.
Operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management since 2011, Walt Disney World Golf has been recognized as the 2026 Resort Course of the Year by the National Golf Course Owners Association, with Disney’s Magnolia course being its flagship offering.
Nearby, Disney’s Palm Golf Course provides a slightly shorter, yet equally strategic, golfing experience.
For those seeking a more leisurely pace and scenic views, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course offers a layout that has also hosted significant events. It is currently undergoing renovations and is expected to reopen later this year, with its pro shop remaining open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
When time is limited or playing with family, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is an excellent choice. This 9-hole, walking-only course is perfect for quicker rounds and skill development. Its commitment to environmental stewardship is evident through its participation in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, offering opportunities to observe local wildlife.
Oak Trail also introduces a playful twist with FootGolf on select afternoons. This hybrid sport combines elements of soccer and golf, where participants kick a soccer ball into oversized holes, offering a casual, fast-paced, and surprisingly competitive activity, particularly for groups.
Golfers can also test their skills on “The Greatest Green Ever Played,” an 18-hole putting course launched in 2024 and open to all guests. This putting paradise pays tribute to amateur golfer Francis Ouimet’s historic 1913 U.S. Open victory, as depicted in the Walt Disney Pictures film “The Greatest Game Ever Played” (2005).
While golf might not be the first activity that comes to mind in a destination built on imagination, it becomes clear to those who play here that the magic extends to what has become known as “The Happiest Place on Turf!”
