Bayern's Joy Tainted by Musiala's Collapse in Friendly Win

FC Bayern secured a victory in their final friendly match before the Supercup, defeating 1. FC Heidenheim 4-2. However, the win was once again marred by a worrying incident involving Jamal Musiala, who collapsed during the game.

The goals for Bayern were scored by Felipe Chavez (25th minute), Arijon Ibrahimović (47th minute), Luis Diaz (78th minute), and Nathanial Brown (83rd minute). For the second-division side, Yannik Wagner (5th minute) and Julian Niehues (44th minute) found the net.

Wagner Shines Against Munich

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany initially fielded a team with several top players on the bench. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich, along with Tom Bischof, were not included in the squad, reportedly for load management, as stated by the record champions before kickoff.

Munich found themselves trailing as early as the fifth minute. A misplaced pass in midfield allowed Heidenheim's Yannik Wagner to break through and score the opening goal. Jonas Urbig, in goal for FCB, was unable to stop the low shot. Despite trying to control possession and build attacks, Bayern struggled to create clear chances. Heidenheim's Wagner continued to be a threat, with Urbig making a save from his long-range effort in the 18th minute and another attempt to lay off the ball finding no teammate shortly after.

Chavez Equalizes with a Stunning Strike

In contrast, Bayern had few ideas from open play and were fortunate to be awarded a penalty when Luca Kerber fouled an opponent. Felipe Chavez, a Bayern academy product recently on loan at 1. FC Köln, converted the spot-kick with a superb strike to level the score at 1-1.

Following the equalizer, Kompany brought on Ismael Saibari and Min-Jae Kim for Mike Wisdom and Dayot Upamecano, but the desired impact was not immediate. Shortly before halftime, Sapoko Ndiaye's clearance of a cross fell to Niehues, who volleyed it into the net to give Heidenheim a 2-1 lead.

The first half was generally characterized by defensive uncertainties rather than offensive prowess. The next equalizer for Bayern also came from a penalty. Binder had dribbled past several defenders and was fouled, leading the referee to point to the spot. Ibrahimovic calmly converted to make it 2-2.

Musiala Collapses After Four Minutes of Play

Musiala had only been on the field for a few minutes when he collapsed, mirroring a similar incident in the friendly against RB Leipzig. He was able to leave the pitch with the assistance of medical staff. In the closing stages, the substitutes Diaz and Brown turned the game in Bayern's favor on the rain-soaked Ostalb.

Bayern's first competitive match of the season is scheduled for next Saturday. They will face vice-champions Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup.
