Dustin Poirier has sharply criticized Nate Diaz’s performance after his significant loss to Mike Perry. Diaz, in his recent MMA return at MVP MMA 1, faced a difficult night against the formidable Mike Perry.
Despite landing some effective strikes, Diaz was largely outmatched by Perry’s relentless pressure and high volume of punches. Perry inflicted damage that left Diaz’s face heavily bloodied by the end of the second round, prompting his corner to stop the fight and award Perry a TKO victory.
Following the bout, Diaz stated his intention to continue fighting and expressed a desire for a rematch with Perry once he has recovered.
Dustin Poirier’s Harsh Critique of Nate Diaz
Dustin Poirier believes that in light of his recent performance against Mike Perry, Nate Diaz should cease his trash talk and take a break. Poirier commented:
“After the way he looked on Saturday night, he can’t talk right now. He needs to take a break, get some sleep, and get some rest. He looked terrible. He seemed uninterested in being there, like a punching bag, off-balance, and his timing was off.”
Poirier also reiterated his offer to fight Diaz at 170 pounds, expressing his readiness to re-enter the drug testing pool if Diaz accepts. Poirier added:
“My offer still stands. I’ll compete at 170 pounds and rejoin the drug testing protocol. I WILL KNOCK NATE DIAZ OUT COMPLETELY.”
Previously, after retiring from the UFC, Dustin Poirier had expressed interest in a boxing match with Nate Diaz under the Zuffa Boxing banner, a proposal that did not materialize.
