Defenseman Darnell Nurse has reportedly approached the Edmonton Oilers management, expressing his desire for a trade and indicating it’s time for him to move on. Nurse, who holds a full no-movement clause until July 1st, 2027, has also provided the team with a list of 3-5 franchises he would consider a deal with.
Colorado Avalanche GM Joe Sakic has stated that securing a contract extension for defenseman Cale Makar is a “pretty big” priority. Sakic confirmed that he has already engaged in discussions with Makar’s agent and that both parties are aligned on the player finishing his career with the Avalanche.
Reports suggest the Ottawa Senators are interested in acquiring forward Mason McTavish from the Anaheim Ducks and Jordan Kyrou from the St. Louis Blues. However, it is believed that Kyrou, who has a no-movement clause, would not be inclined to waive it for a move to Ottawa. The Ducks may seek a first-round pick and immediate roster help in exchange for McTavish. Notably, McTavish’s father serves as a pro scout for the Senators.
Additionally, there are indications that Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann, entering the final year of his contract at $5 million, might be available.
