Chris Billam-Smith emerged as the star of Zuffa Boxing 7, delivering a decisive performance that led to Ryan Rozicki’s corner stopping the fight after the seventh round.
Rozicki began aggressively, pressing Billam-Smith and landing a variety of punches. However, late in the first round, Billam-Smith landed a significant right hand, opening a cut above Rozickiโs left eye. Despite this, Rozicki’s relentless pressure earned him the round on the scorecards.
In the second round, Rozicki continued to fight hard, but a point deduction was issued due to repeated headbutts. The momentum shifted in the third round when Billam-Smith rocked Rozicki with a powerful uppercut, leaving the Canadian visibly shaken. Rozicki managed to survive the round and fought back effectively in the fourth, but the fifth round was dominated by Billam-Smith.
Billam-Smith again had Rozicki in trouble in the sixth round, following up with a barrage of at least a dozen punches as he sought a spectacular finish. Although Rozicki made it through the round, it was evident that a stoppage was near.
After enduring significant punishment in the seventh round, Rozicki’s corner had seen enough and threw in the towel just before the eighth round began. This victory marked the 22nd professional win for Billam-Smith.
