The event took place at the Vancouver Mall, where Grandmaster Tarjan played simultaneously on 14 boards over approximately three hours. A diverse group of participants, including adults, children, and one woman, took part in this challenging and engaging event. The exhibition was free for both players and spectators, drawing a crowd to witness the grandmaster's skill. Ultimately, Grandmaster Tarjan emerged victorious in all his games.
The event was organized by Russell (Rusty) Miller and received support from several sponsors, including Vancouver Mall, Northwest Chess, US Chess, Chess Butler, Esther Schrader, EinsteinWise Academy, and IQ Credit Union.
