The Columbus Blue Jackets and Zach Werenski will meet after the draft

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet: Several sources have said that the Columbus Blue Jackets will meet with defenseman Zach Werenski after the draft. The two sides will talk about his future.

Werenski has two years left on his contract, but there has been speculation about when he might be thinking. There could be a clearer picture after this weekend.

Quick hits on the Tuch, Byram, Hellebuyck, Larkin and Knies

Emily Kaplan of ESPN: The Buffalo Sabres and Alex Tuchโ€˜s camp continue to talk, but havenโ€™t been able to bridge the gap yet. They could trade him if the Sabres feel they canโ€™t bridge the gap. The Seattle Kraken might be one of the teams ready to throw a big deal at Tuch.

The Sabres are seeing what kind of big return they could get for defenseman Bowen Byram.

The Winnipeg Jets are taking calls on goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. The Florida Panthers called about Hellebuyck, but that was before they traded for Brady Tkachuk. They arenโ€™t trading Anton Lundell, but Eetu Luostarinen and Evan Rodrigues could be available.

Dylan Larkin would like to go to an American team, and one that has a chance of winning. The Philadelphia Flyers would like a shot, but theyโ€™re not on his list.

The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to get calls on Matthew Knies. The Chicago Blackhawks are interested and their No. 4 pick is in play.

The Dallas Stars have offered Jason Robertson $12 million

Greg Wyshynski of ESPN: One source said that Dallas Stars offered Jason Robertson an eight-year deal at $12 million, matching Mikko Rantanenโ€˜s deal. Some reports have Robertson looking for upwards of $14 million, the same number as Leon Draisaitl. Robertsonโ€™s new agent, Andy Scott, did Draisaitlโ€™s contract.

Any Robertson offer sheet above $11,939,167 would cost four first-round draft picks, if the Stars donโ€™t match. Only the Panthers, Leafs and Avalanche couldnโ€™t do that.

If the Stars and Robertson canโ€™t work out a deal, Stars GM Jim Nill is more likely to find a trade partner.
