Croatian center-back Luka Vušković has shared his thoughts on his recent loan spell at German club Hamburger SV and his future prospects. The young defender, currently on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, reflected on his time in the 2. Bundesliga and his aspirations upon returning to North London.
Vušković joined Hamburger SV in January 2023, with the intention of gaining valuable senior experience in a competitive league. While his spell has seen him navigate the challenges of a new environment and a demanding league, he expressed a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to develop his game.
Speaking about his experience, Vušković commented, “It has been a significant learning period for me. Playing regularly, even with the ups and downs, is crucial for any young player aiming to make a mark. I’ve been able to adapt to a new footballing culture and improve my understanding of the game at this level.”
The 19-year-old is keenly looking forward to his return to Tottenham. He acknowledged the club’s faith in him by signing him to a long-term contract and is eager to prove his worth. “My ultimate goal is to play for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League,” Vušković stated. “I’ve been following the club’s progress, and I’m excited by the direction they are heading. I believe I can contribute to the team when I get my chance.”
While his immediate future lies with Tottenham, the defender understands that hard work and continued development are key. He is focused on making the most of his remaining time at Hamburger SV and returning to his parent club as a more polished and experienced player, ready to compete for a place in the first team.
