Logan Storley is preparing for his upcoming bout against Florim Zendeli at PFL Sioux Falls on May 2nd. The event takes place at a familiar venue for the former Bellator MMA interim welterweight champion, the Sanford Pentagon, which holds significance as his former amateur wrestling ground.
Storley expressed his excitement about fighting in Sioux Falls, stating, “It’s always fun to get to go back and compete there.” He highlighted the importance of the event for his personal support system, including friends, family, the wrestling community, and his sponsors, many of whom are from the area and have consistently backed his athletic career.
Reflecting on the comfort of competing in a familiar setting, Storley acknowledged the advantages. “You know kind of what things are going to look like, what that ride to the arena, stepping off the bus, what that crowd’s going to sound like, look like,” he explained. However, he emphasized that the primary motivation remains the unwavering support from those who have been with him throughout his career. “For me, it’s just the support, right? The people that have supported you your whole career. I think that means the most to me and is special,” Storley added. He aims to deliver a performance that reflects this support, stating, “So that’s why you want to go out there and fight through every position and dominate. Set a high pace and and look for a finish, for the fans.”
Analyzing his opponent, 2024 PFL Europe welterweight champion Florim Zendeli, Storley noted his physical attributes and resilience. “He’s a long, really long guy for 170, right. He’s tough, right. He’s gotten hit, gotten rocked before and recovered. He fights through a lot of positions. He’s good in the clinch,” Storley observed. To counter Zendeli’s strengths and secure a victory, Storley plans to implement a strategy focused on high intensity and strategic positioning: “So for me, it’s going to have to set a high pace, get to my positions, make them work, and be explosive.”
