Following the announcement of their rematch, Max Holloway shared a promotional clip on X, accompanied by the caption, “July 11 Return of the MAX.”

In response, McGregor issued a taunt, stating, “I’m gonna son you, child. Again.”

Holloway quickly retorted, “We gonna find out Saturday night 😂🤙🏻”

The history between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway dates back to their first encounter in the octagon in 2013. McGregor emerged victorious via unanimous decision, despite sustaining an ACL tear during the bout.

Now, Holloway, a former BMF and featherweight champion who considers himself the best boxer in the UFC, is preparing for his welterweight debut against McGregor. McGregor, who has been sidelined for close to five years and is currently on a two-fight losing streak, faces a renewed challenge. Holloway most recently lost his BMF title to Charles Oliveira in a rematch.

Earlier, McGregor posted a photo from their initial fight, showing him pushing Holloway’s face, with the caption, “You’re gonna put respect on my motherf*cking name.”

Holloway countered by sharing a clip from their first meeting where he briefly knocked McGregor down with a head kick. “Blessed” captioned the post: “Nah, big dog you gonna put some respect on my name.”
