David Beckham has gathered several well-known personalities for the debut episodes of `Beckham and Friends Live,` an alternative broadcast of the UEFA Champions League set to stream exclusively on Paramount+.
The `Beckham and Friends Live` show will launch during the second legs of the Champions League semifinals. This includes the match between Inter and Barcelona on Tuesday, followed by Paris Saint-Germain facing Arsenal on Wednesday. Following dramatic first-leg results – a 3-3 tie between Inter and Barcelona, and PSG holding a narrow 1-0 lead over Arsenal – both return legs are anticipated to be highly entertaining.
These initial `Beckham and Friends Live` broadcasts will originate from the CBS Sports studio in London, with Kate Scott, host of the `UEFA Champions League Today` show, serving as host. David Beckham and another group of guests are also planned to be live from Munich`s Allianz Arena for the Champions League final on May 31st.
How to Tune In to `Beckham and Friends Live`
The broadcasts are scheduled for Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7, starting at 3 p.m. ET. Viewers can watch exclusively on Paramount+.
Stanley Tucci and Guy Ritchie Appear for Inter vs. Barcelona Match
For Tuesday`s semifinal second leg featuring Inter and Barcelona, David Beckham will be joined by acclaimed actor Stanley Tucci, known for his Oscar-nominated roles and hosting the food documentary `Stanley Tucci: Searching For Italy,` and prominent film director Guy Ritchie. Tucci`s connection to Italy makes him a fitting guest to discuss Inter, the last Italian club remaining in the competition. Ritchie is a long-time friend of Beckham, even casting him in his 2017 film `King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.` While Ritchie is a football fan, supporting Chelsea, he won`t have a rooting interest in this particular match as his team did not qualify for this season`s Champions League.
James Corden Joins for Paris Saint-Germain vs. Arsenal Match
Comedian James Corden is set to join David Beckham for Wednesday`s Champions League game between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal. Corden and Beckham share a friendship, notably highlighted when Corden famously pranked the former football star before his LA Galaxy statue unveiling six years ago. While Beckham might have a soft spot for his former club PSG, Corden supports West Ham United, a team that has never competed in the Champions League, suggesting he also may not have a strong favorite in this fixture.
