The upcoming UFC London event, scheduled for Saturday, March 21st, at The O2 Arena, has lost one of its anticipated matchups. The main event of the evening is set to feature a pivotal featherweight clash between No. 1 ranked Movsar Evloev and No. 3 contender Lerone Murphy, widely considered a title eliminator.
However, one fight was called off just a day before the event. At the official weigh-ins for UFC London, Luana Carolina registered 144 pounds, a significant eight pounds over the 136-pound non-title limit for her bantamweight bout against Melissa Mullins. Mullins, on the other hand, successfully made weight, hitting the scale at precisely 136 pounds.
Due to this substantial weight disparity, the UFC decided to cancel the fight following the official weigh-ins. Despite Mullins expressing her disappointment and stating that she and Carolina had initially agreed to proceed with the bout, the commission ultimately intervened and scrapped the contest citing regulatory concerns.
Mullins, a Coventry, England native, was slated to compete after a unanimous decision loss to Daria Zhelezniakova in June 2025. Her current UFC record stands at 2-2, with an overall professional record of 7-2.
For Carolina, the 32-year-old Brazilian athlete with a 6-4 UFC record, this isn’t her first issue with weight. She has now missed weight three times during her UFC career. Previously, she exceeded the limit in 2021 before her fight with Poliana Botelho, then again in February 2024 for her bout against Julija Stoliarenko. In March 2025, her scheduled clash with Montana De La Rosa was entirely cancelled because she was unable to make it to the scale.
