“With Jiri, you just never really know what to expect,” Brown commented on an episode of The Fighter vs. The Writer. “I think my biggest question with Jiri, which I’ve had for a long time and will continue to have, is that you can’t indefinitely rely on non-fundamental techniques. At some point, that approach starts to catch up with you.”
Brown drew comparisons to other notable fighters whose unique styles eventually faced limitations, citing Israel Adesanya, Anderson Silva, and even boxing legend Naseem Hamed. “It’s like Naseem Hamed; when he wins, it looks absolutely phenomenal. God, it’s wild, it’s amazing that you did that! But you simply can’t fight the way Jiri does when you’re 45 years old.”
He continued, emphasizing the uncertainty: “The point in saying that is we don’t know when that time clock is going to hit, when the end for that style is going to come. I know he’s still young, he’s not that old yet, but it can happen at any time.”
