Shortly after Rory McIlroy achieved a career Grand Slam by winning his first green jacket at the 89th Masters Tournament, many of the PGA Tour`s top players are heading to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, to compete for the plaid jacket at the RBC Heritage.
Scottie Scheffler will defend his title this week at Harbour Town Golf Links after finishing fourth at Augusta. The world`s number one player won the RBC Heritage last season by three strokes, following a 2.5-hour weather delay and the eventual suspension of play due to darkness.
Scheffler, still seeking his first victory in 2025, will be among 72 golfers vying for the $3.6 million winner`s share of the $20 million purse. McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama are the only top 30 PGA Tour players not scheduled to participate.
