Rashad Evans has clarified the reasons behind the cancellation of his eagerly awaited boxing match against Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson.

The fight was planned to be promoted by Influencer Crossover Series on April 12th at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.

Fans were excited about the rematch, nearly 15 years after ‘Suga’ Evans` victory over Jackson, eager to see if history would repeat itself or if Jackson would gain revenge.

The anticipation was further fueled by Shawne Merriman`s comments about Rampage Jackson`s impressive sparring performance.

Rashad Evans Explains Contractual Issues Leading to Fight Cancellation

Rashad Evans stated that the anticipated bout with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is off due to unresolved contractual matters.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Evans expressed his disappointment, emphasizing that this decision was not taken lightly.

Evans wrote: “I’m disappointed to announce the fight between Rampage Jackson and myself will NOT happen April 12th in Albuquerque at the PIT.

“Due to contractual obligations that were not fulfilled, we had to make the tough choice to withdraw from the fight. However, we are still hopeful that this fight can be rescheduled for a future date. Apologies to the fight fans, we were looking forward to putting on an exciting show. Thank you for all your support!”

Will Rashad Evans Still Compete on April 12th?

Despite Evans` announcement suggesting he won`t box next Saturday, the Influencer Crossover Series indicates he is still scheduled to fight.

The organization released a statement confirming that Evans will still compete, although they did not mention Rampage Jackson.

The company also affirmed that the entire undercard will proceed as originally planned.

Influencer Crossover Series posted on Instagram: “Hey everyone. The fight on April 12 is still happening. The undercard and co-main are still on.

“And Rashad Evans will face a different opponent. Tickets remain on sale.”
