The standout feature of the new season is the introduction of the Challenges mode. This innovative mode combines intricate golf scenarios with light RPG elements. Players start on a map and can choose their path to complete various challenges and earn rewards. While the mode is based on authentic golf mechanics, some missions incorporate a more arcade-like feel for added variety.
In these scenarios, players must meet specific criteria to succeed, often with unique modifiers affecting their gameplay. An example of a challenge involves guiding shots through a series of floating rings.
Certain challenges will take inspiration from legendary moments in golf history, tasking players with recreating iconic shots. HB Studios plans to continuously expand and update this mode in subsequent seasons. A new course, specifically created for this mode in partnership with Charles Schwab, is scheduled for release in the near future.
Furthermore, Season 2 adds the famous Old Course at St. Andrews to PGA Tour 2K25`s lineup. Alongside this, players can unlock a fresh collection of rewards, including character upgrades, gameplay enhancements, and new gear. The season also introduces the Long Flop, a new type of shot. It offers more power than the standard Flop Shot but maintains a similar high trajectory, spin, and run, making it a useful option for recovering when a previous shot didn`t quite reach the target.
