PFL Fighter Jay-Jay Wilson Eyes Lamborghini with Tournament Winnings

Sports news » PFL Fighter Jay-Jay Wilson Eyes Lamborghini with Tournament Winnings

PFL star Jay-Jay Wilson is not thinking about investments if he secures the $500,000 prize from this year`s tournament. His goal is a Lamborghini.

The fighter, with a record of 10 wins and 1 loss, is set to face UFC veteran Mads Burnell in the opening round of the lightweight world tournament on April 18. He is just three victories away from a significant financial reward.

Unlike many fighters who prioritize reinvesting their winnings, the 27-year-old Wilson intends to enjoy his prize money and has a specific luxury purchase in mind.

However, “The Maori Kid” must first overcome a tough challenge in Burnell, considered one of the most formidable opponents in the PFL. The Danish fighter is known for his well-rounded skills, excelling in both striking and grappling.

Jay-Jay Wilson Vows to Purchase a Lamborghini with PFL Tournament Prize

After a period away from competition due to a USADA case, Jay-Jay Wilson is immediately entering the high-stakes PFL tournament. If he emerges victorious, he would likely need to face his past rival Gadzhi Rabadanov again and compete three times within a five-month span.

Winning the tournament not only means a championship belt and a chance to fight Usman Nurmagomedov but also a substantial $500,000 cash prize. In contrast to fighters who prefer to save and invest their earnings, Wilson has immediate plans for spending his winnings.

“I`ve been talking about getting a Lambo,” he shared in an interview with Bloody Elbow. “Although, I`m also considering a Harley Davidson motorbike. But then again, a Lambo sounds really appealing.”

He added, “Every time I mention it, people tell me I`m crazy and shouldn`t waste the money on a Lamborghini. But I think, it`s a Lambo, you know? I can always win another tournament and buy a house with that money!”

“I want to be able to respond to people talking nonsense by asking, ‘Hey, what color is your Lamborghini cup holder?’ and just walk away. If they don`t have one, even better.”

Jay-Jay Wilson Explains What to Expect in Fight Against Mads Burnell

Wilson`s immediate focus is on his fight with the strong and versatile Mads Burnell. The Danish fighter trains at Xtreme Couture alongside fighters like Sean Strickland and is considered a difficult opponent due to his proficiency in all aspects of MMA.

“I believe if he`s smart, he`ll try to keep the fight standing. He might attempt a takedown occasionally, but if he`s smart, he won`t want to wrestle too much. I`ve been competing in high-level jiu-jitsu for most of my career.”

“My background is in jiu-jitsu, and I`ve competed at a high level. I could reach the podium at world championships as a black belt. I`ve even submitted black belt world champions in tournaments. People talk about Mads’ jiu-jitsu, but I haven’t really seen him compete at the top levels of jiu-jitsu tournaments.”

“I`ve never seen him at ADCC or the Worlds. I haven`t seen him at these prestigious tournaments competing against elite grapplers. So, in terms of jiu-jitsu, I`m confident.”

“I truly believe I have the best jiu-jitsu in the entire division, across all organizations. I don`t think many have the grappling skills that I possess.”
