The Orlando Magic are updating their appearance by paying homage to their past styles, bringing back pinstripes on three different uniform sets.
According to a team website announcement on Tuesday, the organization characterized the new uniforms as a `nostalgic tribute` popular with their supporters. The updated logo features a `cascading star trail,` which is presented as a fresh element, simultaneously reintroducing the star symbol to replace the letter `A` in both “Orlando” and “Magic” on the jerseys.
Shelly Wilkes, the Magic`s executive vice president of marketing and social responsibility, stated that fan input influenced the designs, aiming to connect the team`s history with its present.
The `primary icon,` as described by the franchise, is a wordless design featuring a basketball followed by a star trail. The ball is blue, the stars are white with either blue or black outlines, set against a background of blue, black, or silver. The `global logo` includes the words `Orlando Magic` in white, encircling a black circle with blue trim. Within this circle is the star trail icon.
The Magic submitted a total of 15 trademark applications for four distinct trademarks. This included six applications for the global logo and five for the primary icon. Each of these unique marks incorporates a star element, such as one replacing the `A` in “Magic,” the cascading star trail appearing in two logos, and another design showing a basketball inside a star.
