Boston Legacy FC, set to join the National Women`s Soccer League (NWSL) as its 15th team, has officially unveiled its club crest and branding. This follows a recent rebrand for the expansion side, which is preparing to debut in the 2026 regular season alongside fellow expansion team, Denver NWSL.
The team had previously introduced preliminary branding in October 2024. However, this initial effort met with significant backlash and criticism, prompting the club to relaunch under the new name, Boston Legacy FC. The official unveiling of the refined team crest, colors (green, black, and white), and complete branding took place on Saturday.
`This crest is another step in building a new sporting legacy in Boston,` stated Jennifer Epstein, controlling manager for Boston Legacy FC. `Swans embody our core club values of integrity, grit, and style. They are famously loyal, relentless in defending their territory, and iconic residents of our waterways and green spaces. We are excited to see our fans and players wearing this incredible crest when we kick off in 2026 at Gillette Stadium, and continue to build towards the future with our home field of White Stadium in partnership with the City of Boston.`

Graphic designer Matthew Wolff developed the green, black, and white crest over a five-month period. The central element is a swan, featuring eight feathers intended to represent the NWSL`s original eight teams, including the former Boston Breakers club that folded due to financial mismanagement prior to the 2018 season. The angles of the swan`s wings are incorporated to reflect the design of Boston`s Zakim Bridge.
Currently, White Stadium is undergoing significant renovations. Due to unforeseen delays in the construction process, the team plans to play its inaugural 2026 season at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. This move will make Boston Legacy the first women`s professional soccer team to play its regular season matches at the NFL facility. The club anticipates moving into their permanent home at White Stadium starting in 2027.
