Friedman believes Yzerman is undoubtedly “hugely frustrated” by the team’s performance, especially after another loss. While acknowledging that other Eastern Conference bottom teams also lost, which mitigated the immediate damage, he observed a noticeable “tension” within the team.
Friedman pointed out a stark contrast: while Yzerman himself thrived under high-stakes pressure as a player, the current Red Wings squad appears to struggle significantly when the stakes are highest. This contrast, Friedman suggested, might be particularly vexing for Yzerman.
