Caroline Dubois Aims to Send a Message to Rivals: "I'm Coming for the Belts!"

Caroline Dubois intends to use her upcoming bout against Amelia Moore on Saturday as a declaration to her competitors: "I'm coming for the belts!"

Dubois, aiming to maintain her undefeated streak, will defend her WBC and WBO titles against Moore at MVPW-06. This fight is part of the undercard for Chantelle Cameron's clash with Mikaela Mayer.

While Dubois is eager for her fight, she is also vocal about her ambition to unify the world lightweight division.

"To be honest, I always think about what's next," Dubois shared with Sky Sports. "Not to be distracted by what's in front of me, but I believe in setting goals. I believe in setting small goals, big goals, massive goals and having timelines.

"For me, the biggest timeline has to be becoming undisputed. We have two more champions in the weight division, [Stephanie] Han and [Elif Nur] Turhan. Whichever one makes the most sense, whichever one is more feasible and accessible for the next fight, we have to go after that.

"It's not about announcing myself - I've already been announced - but cementing myself as the world champion and proving to the world why I'm the world champion, why I'm the only unified world champion.

'It's about sending a message to the rest of the 135ers [in Dubois' weight division] that the queen is in town and this is what's up - I'm coming for the belts!'"

"I want to punch her in the face and get this over with"

Dubois is unreserved about her long-term aspirations, but her immediate focus is on delivering a commanding performance against Moore in Birmingham.

"I just can't wait to step into the ring, punch her in the face and get this over with," she stated. "We're going to see vintage Caroline Dubois and we're going to see complete domination.

"I'm not going to focus too much on getting the stoppage. I'm just going to focus on going out there and having fun.

"I just know I'm going to go out there and do my thing, which is going to be look very good and look very exciting. Body, head, attacks, aggressive - vintage."

Dubois: Baumgardner is playing it safe by not fighting me

The British boxer expressed excitement upon learning that unified junior lightweight champion Alycia Baumgardner, who had previously stated Dubois needed to prove herself further before a fight could be considered, would be in attendance for the Moore fight.

"I didn't know that. Is that true? I need to see her - this is great," Dubois told Sky Sports. "I'm going to go to the gym with a smile on my face. I'm very excited - I can't wait! This is going to be great.

"Boxing is about rivalries, it's about clashes. At the end of the day, boxing is about two people believing what they're better than each other and clashing. It's very rare, unfortunately, with female boxing where you have a fighter who's confident enough to say that.

"With myself and Alycia, I think we're the only two girls right now, besides Claressa Shields, who's confident enough to say: 'I believe I'm going to take your head off your shoulders and I believe I'm the best in the division.'"

However, Dubois maintained her critical view of Baumgardner, whom she previously labeled as "lost" for not agreeing to fight her, and remains eager for a bout with the American.

"Alycia likes to play it safe. She's been beaten already.

"Once you lose in professional boxing, unfortunately, people can be very cutthroat and forget all you did to get there. She's already experienced that and now she wants to play everything safe.

"She wanted to fight Amanda Serrano. She wanted to fight Katie Taylor. She wanted to fight all these women who are retiring and are at the end of their careers. She did not want to go after the big dogs because she knows how dangerous it can be.

"I just want to fight the best. I have no issues - I believe in myself and I back myself, I just want it.

"For me, all I care about is being involved in the biggest fights, the most exciting fights. I just see Alycia as being such an exciting fight for myself."

Baumgardner is set to move up in weight to challenge Elif Nur Turhan for her IBF lightweight world title on November 8, a significant development that potentially brings a high-profile fight with Dubois closer.
