The Group 2 Grand Prix de Deauville presents an open field, with Al Aasy and Arrow Eagle among the contenders.

Al Aasy, a seasoned nine-year-old trained by William Haggas, boasts an impressive career with 12 wins since 2019. He continues to perform well, securing a win at Beverley in July and a third-place finish at Goodwood, making him a strong candidate for this step up in class.

Arrow Eagle, representing the soon-to-retire Jean-Claude Rouget, was his last Group 1 winner, having claimed the Royal-Oak last year. This race might offer a more manageable challenge after a less convincing performance in the Prix Vicomtesse Vigier.

Mazzala, undefeated in four starts and a winner of both Listed and Group 3 events in his last two outings, poses a significant threat for trainer Yann Barberot.

The Group 3 Prix de Meautry at Deauville is set to be a thrilling contest, featuring a clash between the British runners Into The Sky and Mitbaahy.

Into The Sky, a stable star for Jim Boyle, made a strong return this spring, finishing fourth in the 2000 Guineas. Despite a subsequent challenge at Royal Ascot over seven furlongs, he is expected to perform well in this class reduction and over this distance, with top jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot in the saddle.

Mitbaahy is a consistent performer at this level. He delivered an excellent run when chasing home Symbol Of Honour at Newbury on his second-to-last start. His subsequent third-place finish, a neck behind the winner, in the Stewards Cup was another notable performance that could see him in contention.

Other British hopefuls in this race include La Brodeuse and Zoum Zoum.

The feature handicap at Yarmouth, the Bodhi Solutions - Exceeding Expectations In Construction Handicap, promises an exciting race with nine runners, including Hypnotised and Adrestia.

Hypnotised, trained by Harry Charlton, has shown steady improvement and was narrowly beaten when second at Newbury in his last start. A 3lb rise in the weights appears fair, and he is expected to be a strong contender under jockey Lewis Edmunds.

Kinswomen, from William Haggas' yard, only needs to find a couple of lengths on the Charlton runner and is also considered a strong possibility.

Adrestia, the winner of the Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes in 2025, has performed well in competitive handicaps this summer. With her handicap rating reduced by another 2lb, she should be a factor in the race.
