Movsar Evloev Calls Jean Silva a 'Liar' Amidst Title Shot Dispute
UFC featherweight contender Movsar Evloev has responded to recent comments made by Jean Silva. This past weekend, "Lord" Silva claimed he was slated to fight the two-time UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski next. He further alleged that UFC executives Hunter Campbell and Dana White had invited him to UFC London to finalize and sign the contract after the event.
During the UFC London event, Silva was indeed seen handing some documents to Campbell.
Meanwhile, the number one UFC featherweight contender, Movsar Evloev, significantly bolstered his case for a title shot by securing a majority decision win over Lerone Murphy last Saturday. During the post-fight press conference, when the undefeated Russian phenom was asked for his opinion on Silva’s bold claims, he stated:
“He [Jean Silva] is just lying [that he’s going to get the next title shot].”
MMA Manager Praises Movsar Evloev's Performance
Prior to UFC London, Movsar Evloev’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, had emphasized the importance of Evloev securing a finish against Lerone Murphy to earn the next title opportunity. Although Evloev didn’t achieve a knockout or submission victory, he delivered an exceptionally entertaining performance, largely stepping away from his characteristic wrestling-heavy approach to engage in striking exchanges with knockout artist Murphy throughout their 25-minute bout.
Earlier today on X (formerly Twitter), Abdelaziz lauded Evloev, revealing that the promotion was extremely pleased with his most recent outing:
“The game has changed for all young fighters. Winning alone is not enough anymore. It’s about how you fight, how you make a statement, and how you show that you are a complete fighter. That’s exactly what Movsar did on Saturday night. One thing I can tell you is that everyone is happy. The UFC is happy, and they’ve been very complimentary about his performance for the first time, and I’m very grateful.”
