Professional golfer Max Homa and his caddie of many years, Joe Greiner, who is also a close friend from childhood, have announced their separation.

At the Valero Texas Open on Thursday, Homa was seen with experienced caddie Bill Harke, signaling the change.

Homa expressed his gratitude in a statement to PGATour.com on Thursday, saying, `Joe and I created unforgettable memories, and I am incredibly thankful for his dedication and effort.`

He continued, `Our professional paths are diverging, which is a difficult change. I will always cherish the time spent working alongside one of my closest friends.`

The 34-year-old Homa achieved significant success on the PGA Tour, winning six tournaments between 2019 and 2023 and reaching a world ranking of No. 5. Despite a strong performance at last year`s Masters where he finished tied for third, he has experienced a downturn in form recently.

Currently ranked 78th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Homa has missed the cut in his last four events. His best finish this year is a tie for 26th.

The Valero Texas Open is the last tournament before the Masters, the first major of the golf season, which begins next week. Homa started poorly at the Texas Open, recording a 4-over-par 76 in the first round.
