The beloved tradition of the Masters Par 3 Contest returned for its 63rd edition.
Since 1960, when Sam Snead won the first contest, the Par 3 Contest has been a relaxed event where participants and past Masters champions play on a shorter nine-hole course. Golfers often invite family members, celebrities, spouses, or children to be their caddies.
Despite its casual nature, the contestants still aim to perform well.
Throughout the competition`s history, there have been 112 holes-in-one, according to ESPN Stats & Information. In 2024, five holes-in-one were achieved by Luke List, Gary Woodland, Sepp Straka, Lucas Glover, and Viktor Hovland.
Superstition might lead players competing in the Masters to avoid winning the Par 3 Contest, as no Par 3 Contest winner has ever won the Masters in the same year.
