The Los Angeles Lakers have introduced their new Statement Edition jersey set for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season, unveiled earlier this week.
This updated design brings back the team`s signature purple color scheme, reminiscent of the look featured during the 2022-23 season. However, these uniforms incorporate several distinct changes compared to previous purple iterations. Notably, the numbers and the `Lakers` lettering, which previously used a gold font and a darker number color, are now presented in a sharp white outlined with gold trim.
The collar features purple and white striped detailing. A significant visual update is the change to the side panels; the former black accents have been replaced. The new panels integrate purple, gold, and white colors, with the full `Los Angeles Lakers` name subtly woven into the design, creating a vibrant effect.
An inscription reading `Leave a Legacy` is positioned above the jersey tag. On the back of the neck, the number 17 is prominently displayed, serving as a tribute to the franchise`s 17 NBA championships.
Adding a “balancing finishing touch,” the Lakers` well-known `LA` logo will be included on both sides of the shorts. This marks the first time this logo has appeared on the shorts of a core team uniform.
According to a news release from the team, the Statement Edition jersey is part of the complete uniform collection for the season. This collection will also include the gold Icon Edition, the white Association Edition, and the team`s annual City Edition uniform.
