Khabib Nurmagomedov invoked his famous catchphrase, telling Patrice Evra to “send location” as he offered to help the former footballer prepare for his upcoming PFL debut. The Manchester United legend has signed to fight for the PFL in Paris next month. He`s currently training in Dubai, where UFC icon Nurmagomedov also resides. Evra has already linked up with several prominent figures in the sport and was recently seen in a video call with the undefeated former champion.
While Evra had a distinguished football career playing for clubs like Manchester United, Juventus, West Ham, Monaco, and Marseille, the 43-year-old is now stepping into the MMA cage after years of dedicated training.
Patrice Evra links with Khabib Nurmagomedov ahead of PFL debut
During a recent training session in Dubai, Patrice Evra connected with Khabib Nurmagomedov via FaceTime. A noted Manchester United supporter, the former lightweight champion initially questioned why Evra felt the need to fight, even jokingly offering to step in for him. Evra, however, emphasized his commitment to taking the sport seriously and expressed a strong desire to train with the best.
Responding with his signature line, Khabib demanded Evra “send location.” He added, “Brother, when I see you, you have to be ready and that`s it. Other things we can take care of, I`m going to teach you how to smash people.” Evra lightheartedly suggested Khabib might want to “kill and destroy” him despite being a fan, to which the Russian replied, “No no, I just want you to improve yourself, nothing else.” Khabib reiterated his offer: “It`s very good to see you brother, send me location and we will train.”
Patrice Evra trains with top MMA fighters before debut
To prepare for his debut, Evra is training with top professionals. He is currently working out at the Tripl3 MMA gym in Dubai, where PFL featherweight champion Brendan Loughnane recently joined him for a session. Evra had also previously trained with prominent fighter Cedric Doumbe when he was considering a boxing bout. Loughnane shared a photo on Instagram with Evra, holding his 2022 belt, and captioned it, “Welcome to the @pflmma brother #Manchester.”
