Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) featherweight champion, Kai Stewart, is preparing for his upcoming title defense at BKFC 87 in Florida against Nico Gaffie. While his immediate focus is on this bout, Stewart is already outlining ambitious plans to capture other championship belts.
“Hefty Bag,” as he is known, has expressed interest in challenging for the bantamweight title (135 pounds), currently held by Justin Ibarrola. Furthermore, the vacant lightweight title (155 pounds) also piques his interest, where he is ready to face the winner of the fight between Austin Trout and Ben Bonner. However, Stewart emphasizes that due to their friendship, he would prefer not to fight Trout if he wins the belt, but would gladly accept a challenge from Bonner.
Stewart’s ambitions are not limited solely to title fights. He also expresses a desire for exciting bouts against fighters like Luis Palomino, who holds the “King of the Streets” belt and with whom Stewart has personal history, as well as Tony Soto. The young champion is confident that he will become a three-division titleholder and break records by becoming a six-time BKFC world champion.
His long-term goal includes achieving ten featherweight title defenses, which would enable him to participate in a lucrative equity deal discussed at last year’s Champion’s Summit. Kai Stewart plans to remain as active as possible, hoping to compete three times this year, showcasing his relentless spirit and drive for greatness.
