Francis Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion, has announced that his next endeavor will be outside of professional fighting.
Ngannou last fought in October, where he defeated Renan Ferreira in the PFL. Following this victory, there has been speculation about his return to boxing, especially after his fights with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
However, Ngannou revealed a `new project` which will temporarily shift his attention away from combat sports.

Ngannou announced on social media last week that he has taken on a new project in his native Cameroon.
Describing it as ‘a masterpiece and very personal’, Ngannou indicated he would be closely involved in the project.
His announcement included photos showing him engaged in construction work.
“My next project in Batié is a masterpiece and very personal, so I don’t just assign it to people,” Ngannou stated on Instagram. “I am closely involved, even operating an excavator.”
He concluded by saying, “Stay tuned for what’s coming out of the ground.”
Deontay Wilder Discusses Potential Fight with Francis Ngannou
Deontay Wilder, former WBC heavyweight champion, challenged Ngannou in November, and Ngannou seemed interested at the time.
Wilder recently provided an update on the potential matchup, stating, “Me and Francis, that fight, it still comes up. It came up two more times not too long ago.”
“We’re just trying to finalize the details for a fight between me and Ngannou,” Wilder added.
“I’m definitely interested, and he is as well. It’s just a matter of time. It’s looking like it will happen, we just need to sort out the details. I’m looking forward to it, so stay tuned.”
