Fabian Edwards understands the importance of his first PFL tournament fight, especially after a challenging year for his family.

Since defeating Aaron Jeffery last March, Fabian and his brother Leon Edwards have both maintained a 3-0 record in PFL and UFC fights.

Leon Edwards lost his welterweight title to Belal Muhammad at UFC 304. Fabian`s attempt to win Bellator gold against Johnny Eblen in Saudi Arabia was also unsuccessful. Last month, Leon suffered his first UFC loss to Sean Brady at UFC London.

“Definitely,” he replied when asked if he was fighting for his family`s legacy. “Impa seems like a nice guy, but I`m going to hit him with everything I`ve got.”

He added: `I`ll show we`re still top brothers. We need to prove it. I`m ready to unleash everything and do what I can do.`

Fabian Edwards could face his biggest rival in PFL semi-finals

In 2019, a major rivalry in British MMA developed between Fabian Edwards and Mike Shipman. Their Bellator fight went to a decision, with Edwards winning a controversial split decision.

If things align, a rematch could happen in the US this summer. Shipman is fighting Josh Silveira, who also wants a rematch against Impa Kasanganay.

Edwards laughed about a potential Shipman rematch: `It would be funny. I`d take him out. Good matchup, but I`d destroy him now. It was a fun rivalry back then, I was younger and wilder.`

He continued: `I`m older now, so it`s different. Back then, I might have fought him outside the cage. It was probably nothing serious, but that`s how it was!`
