An Everton fan has been banned for life by the Premier League club after filming himself stealing food at Goodison Park stadium during a trial event.
In the video, the man is seen ordering food at the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium in Liverpool. When a staff member turned to prepare coffee, the fan took the food he had already been given and walked away, saying “adios amigo.”
The fan himself described his action as “the first Toby [slang for theft] at Bramley-Moore Dock.”
Everton confirmed that the 62-year-old man received an indefinite ban and his club membership was cancelled. The incident happened on February 17th during the first test event at the stadium, where 10,000 fans watched Everton`s Under-18s play against Wigan.
Several test events are being conducted at the new stadium, which will become Everton`s home ground starting from the 2025-26 season. Everton has played at Goodison Park for 133 years, but the new stadium will have a capacity of 52,888.
Merseyside Police are aware of the incident but stated it is being handled by Everton.
The fan was asked to donate the value of the stolen food to the Everton in the Community charity.
