Formula 1 returns to Italy for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, marking the start of a triple-header in Europe.

The previous race in Miami was intense, with Oscar Piastri securing his third consecutive win. This extends his championship lead over his team-mate Lando Norris, who finished second and trails Piastri by 16 points.

Max Verstappen is now 32 points behind Piastri following a challenging Sprint weekend in Miami. However, Red Bull, along with many other teams, is expected to introduce upgrades at Imola hoping to close the gap to McLaren.

Ferrari competes on home ground in Imola. This event marks Lewis Hamilton`s first time racing in front of the passionate Tifosi crowd as a Ferrari driver, adding to the pressure on the Italian team.

Mercedes junior driver Kimi Antonelli will also be competing at home, fresh off securing a remarkable Sprint pole position in Miami. George Russell achieved a podium finish there, but Antonelli`s performance was arguably more striking. It will be interesting to follow his progress.

Franco Colapinto takes over from Jack Doohan for the next five races at Alpine. This follows the recent resignation of Alpine`s team principal, Oliver Oakes.

Emilia Romagna GP Track – Imola Circuit

The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix takes place at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola. This circuit is one of F1`s most iconic venues, presenting a true test for drivers with its old-school characteristics, including grass and gravel run-off areas.

Imola rejoined the F1 calendar in 2020 after a 14-year break. It uses a revised track configuration that remains in use for current races.

Qualifying is particularly crucial at this circuit because of its narrow, fast-flowing nature. There is only one DRS zone, located on the main straight, which limits overtaking opportunities.

Emilia Romagna GP Weather Forecast

The current weather outlook for Imola predicts mostly dry and warm conditions throughout the three-day event, with temperatures around 25°C.

A slight possibility of rain showers exists for race day.
