Eddie Hall Felt ‘Anorexic’ at 334lb Before Crushing Pudzianowski in 30 Seconds

Sports news » Eddie Hall Felt ‘Anorexic’ at 334lb Before Crushing Pudzianowski in 30 Seconds

Eddie Hall, known for his strongman career, stated he felt surprisingly “anorexic” despite weighing a substantial 334 pounds for his mixed martial arts debut last month.

The victor of the 2017 World`s Strongest Man contest decisively defeated five-time WSM champion Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105 in Poland. Hall significantly outweighed his opponent by approximately 67 pounds during the weigh-in the day prior, demonstrating considerable weight loss on his part.

While 334 pounds might appear unusually heavy for a 6`2″ individual, Hall has actually shed over 100 pounds compared to his peak weight during his strongman days. At his heaviest, he weighed around 440 pounds when he famously lifted over 1,000 pounds to set a world record.

Eddie Hall Discusses Weight Reduction for Pudzianowski Fight

In a post-fight video on YouTube after his victory at KSW 105, Eddie Hall shared his future plans following his successful foray into MMA. He indicated his next fight is likely scheduled for November or December and mentioned potential opponents.

However, his immediate plan is to return to the gym to rebuild muscle by lifting weights. He remarked, “So, what`s next for me? I`m actually going to get back in the gym; I haven`t lifted any weights for ten weeks.”

He continued, “I want to get back in the gym and put some muscle back on because I`m feeling a bit anorexic. I have an arm wrestling match against Robert Oburst at the Shaw Classic in mid-August, so I`ll be training for arm wrestling and bulking up.”

Hall added, “Then I`m hoping for one of two things: either I get another fight booked for November or December, or I`ll use the bulk gained from arm wrestling training to then diet down for a bodybuilding show. I haven`t decided yet; it depends on whether a fight promotion offers me a good enough deal.”

Eddie Hall Utilized Carnivore Diet for MMA Weight Cut

In an exclusive interview before the fight, Eddie Hall disclosed that he was losing weight during training camp by following a carnivore diet. His diet consisted solely of meat, eggs, and dairy, avoiding fruit to prioritize protein intake for strength maintenance.

“It’s been a pretty effective diet,” he stated. “It helped me keep all my muscle mass while dropping body fat. My energy levels are extremely high, and my endurance is incredible, so that was essentially my diet.”

Hall explained, “I’ve not limited my food intake at all; I just eat meat, eggs, and dairy in unlimited quantities. The body fat’s come off. When I started the preparation I was 170kg and dropped to 158kg. I might even lose a little more by being stricter, which would put me around 155-156kg for the fight.”

He concluded, “I feel good, and the most important aspect is that my training focuses not on weight but on my fitness level. Can I perform these four-minute rounds and recover within 90 seconds to go again? Currently, the answer is yes. I’ve got no intention of losing excessive weight because my cardio is sufficient.”
