Eddie Hall, the 2017 World`s Strongest Man, has expressed strong interest in facing former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in a combat sports contest.
Hall recently secured a stunning first-round knockout victory over Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105 on April 26. Following this impressive win, Hall stated he would willingly challenge himself against a top-tier opponent like Ngannou, believing his immense punching power gives him a potential path to victory.
Eddie Hall Believes He Can Knock Out Francis Ngannou
While a matchup between Hall and Ngannou appears heavily skewed on paper, given Ngannou`s extensive combat sports background compared to Hall`s single professional bout, Hall points to his extraordinary power as the equalizer.
Citing data from the UFC`s PowerKube machine, which reportedly shows Hall`s striking power matching or exceeding Ngannou`s, `The Beast` believes this gives him a “small chance” to achieve a shocking upset.
Speaking on Michael Bisping`s YouTube channel, Hall elaborated on his stance. He initially dismissed the idea when asked immediately after his win over Pudzianowski, calling it “ridiculous.” However, after consideration and some encouragement from combat sports organizations, he`s open to it.
Hall candidly admitted that Ngannou would likely win “95 times out of 100” in a fight, but stressed that his own “knockout power” provides that crucial “5% chance.” He concluded that if the financial offer is substantial enough to justify “risking your life,” he would accept the fight, seeing that slim possibility of victory as sufficient reason.
