Sports news » Eddie Hall Describes Feeling ‘Like a Little Girl’ Sparring with Tom Aspinall

Tom Aspinall, a dominant force in the heavyweight division, showcased his superior skills against even the `World`s Strongest Man`.

Eddie Hall, who won the World`s Strongest Man competition in 2017 and weighs 352lbs, previously set records for punching power at the UFC Performance Institute, surpassing figures achieved by Francis Ngannou and Alex Pereira. However, during a grappling session with interim heavyweight champion Aspinall, Hall experienced a significant difference in skill levels.

Both athletes are currently preparing for their upcoming fights. Hall is set to make his MMA debut against Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105 in Gliwice, Poland on April 26th. Aspinall is anticipated to face Jon Jones later this year in a highly anticipated unification bout for the UFC heavyweight title, though the date is yet to be confirmed.

Eddie Hall`s Account of Sparring with Tom Aspinall

Ahead of his MMA debut on April 26th, Eddie Hall has been training with UFC champion Tom Aspinall. While Hall is primarily training with his personal team in Stoke, he maintains contact with Aspinall`s camp and has trained with him.

In a recent interview, Hall recounted his sparring experience with Aspinall: “Honestly, sparring with Tom Aspinall was the most humbling experience I’ve ever had. I`m being completely serious.”

Hall elaborated on the grappling session, stating, “You genuinely feel like a child when you`re grappling with him. Despite my size, he effortlessly uses my strength against me, and his hand speed and footwork are incredible. Sparring with Tom Aspinall is a truly emasculating experience.”

“And that’s coming from the ‘World’s Strongest Man’. It’s incredibly humbling to share the ring with Tom.”

Eddie Hall Predicts Aspinall Victory Over Jon Jones

Many UFC fans are eager to see a heavyweight unification fight between Aspinall and Jones. Despite speculation and anticipation, the fight has yet to be officially scheduled.

Tom Aspinall at UFC 309

There have been suggestions that Jones is avoiding a fight with Aspinall, particularly given Jones` pursuit of fights with other opponents. Notably, Jones chose to fight Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 last November and even suggested that Alex Pereira, then the light-heavyweight champion, would be a bigger draw.

When asked if he believes Aspinall will defeat Jones, Hall responded, “I do. Jon Jones is the champion for a reason and is incredibly tough. However, there’s a reason why this fight hasn’t happened yet, in my opinion. If Jon Jones was confident he could win, he would have already agreed to the fight.”
