Eddie Hall: Could Two of Me Beat a Gorilla?

Sports news » Eddie Hall: Could Two of Me Beat a Gorilla?

Eddie Hall, the former World`s Strongest Man, recently joined the online discussion about a hypothetical fight between 100 men and a gorilla.

The debate about who would win a fantasy confrontation between a large silverback gorilla and 100 men started after a user on `X` (formerly Twitter) posted the question online.

This question ignited significant debate. Some argued that such a fight would be suicidal for the men, highlighting the silverback`s immense strength (lifting ten times its body weight), powerful bite (1300 PSI), and speed (25 MPH), among other formidable capabilities.

Others, however, believed that sheer numbers would allow the men to overcome the gorilla. Undefeated UFC Middleweight Bo Nickal even volunteered to be one of the 100 men for a potential `Mr. Beast` video on the topic.

Aside from a hypothetical prime Mike Tyson, few others seem willing to face a gorilla alone.

But what about two men against one gorilla? Eddie Hall, the 2017 World`s Strongest Man and a recent debutant in MMA`s super-heavyweight division, believes he and another version of himself could succeed.

How Two Eddie Halls Would Fare Against a Gorilla

Hall, a celebrated strongman, recently transitioned to mixed martial arts, winning his debut fight against five-time World`s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski in just 30 seconds via TKO.

Pudzianowski, however, is not comparable to a silverback gorilla; he weighed 267lbs for his recent fight.

Hall stated, “I`ve seen gorillas in person, in close-up scenarios, and they are scary things.”

He noted that adult silverback gorillas typically weigh between 300 and 500 pounds.

“Forget me now,” Hall added, “as a prime strongman, I was 430 pounds. I think one [of me] would get mauled to death.”

“I think two Eddie Halls at their prime, with a combined weight of 860 pounds, would dominate the gorilla.”

Hall claimed, “I would just pin it down and just hammer-fist it to death. I think two big Eddie Halls would do the job.”

Eddie Hall`s Prime Weight Compared to a Gorilla

Veteran MMA reporter Ariel Helwani expressed surprise at Hall`s claim that two prime Eddie Halls could dominate a silverback gorilla.

Helwani responded, “I thought you were gonna say maybe, like, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 [Halls].”

“You`re saying just two Eddie Halls?” he questioned.

Hall replied, “At my biggest.”

“I`m at 150 kilos now,” Hall elaborated, “my biggest was nearly 200 [kilos]. At my biggest, I think two Eddie Halls would dominate a silverback gorilla.”

During his peak strongman career in 2017, Eddie `The Beast` Hall weighed 434lbs (197kg). As noted earlier, silverback gorillas typically weigh between 300 and 500lbs.

While in his prime, Hall also set a deadlift world record by lifting 1,102lbs (500kg), an feat that he stated nearly cost him his life.
