Dillon Danis has reacted with surprise to Mike Perry`s claim that he was offered an MMA fight to replace the cancelled KSI boxing match.
Danis was originally scheduled to box KSI, but the event was postponed due to KSI`s illness. Following this, Mike Perry stated that he was offered an MMA fight against Danis under the Misfits Boxing banner as a replacement.
Mike Perry`s Offer of an MMA Bout
Mike Perry mentioned on The Ariel Helwani Show that he received a last-minute offer to face Dillon Danis in an MMA fight. Perry stated, “KSI is out. Dillon Danis wants to fight MMA. I’m saying yes, but we have to see if they want to make it happen.” Perry suggested the fight could potentially occur in April, before Danis` scheduled fight with Tony Ferguson in the GFL.
Perry believes he would be successful in an MMA match against Danis, stating his ability to defend takedowns and utilize ground and pound.
Dillon Danis`s Reaction
Dillon Danis responded to Perry`s comments on social media, expressing confusion and stating, “Is it weird I never heard anything about this?” This suggests Danis was not aware of any offer for an MMA fight against Mike Perry.
Danis, who is set to face Tony Ferguson in his first MMA fight in six years on May 25th, seems focused on his upcoming bout and was seemingly unaware of Perry`s claims.
Mike Perry, a veteran of 15 UFC fights and successful in BKFC, has not competed in MMA since 2021.
