Darren Till Could Take Over Dirty Boxing Championship With Mike Perry Win

Sports news » Darren Till Could Take Over Dirty Boxing Championship With Mike Perry Win

Mike Perry has presented Darren Till with an extraordinary proposition: the chance to assume control of Perry`s nascent fight promotion, the Dirty Boxing Championship (DBX). The condition? They must finally step into the ring and settle their long-standing, bitter rivalry on Perry`s terms.

Till and Perry have been on a collision course for years, even engaging in private sparring sessions during their time in the UFC. Despite significant fight offers spanning bare-knuckle boxing, Misfits Boxing, and now Perry`s own venture, the anticipated showdown has consistently failed to materialize.

Now, Perry, known as the BKFC `King of Violence`, is significantly raising the stakes. He`s willing to put his ownership of the developing DBX promotion on the line to ensure the fight happens. He`s even open to a potential two-fight agreement that could include a bout in Misfits, though he insists his side of the deal holds greater value.

Mike Perry`s Offer: Become the Face of Dirty Boxing

Making the Mike Perry vs. Darren Till fight a reality seems to hinge on a two-fight series, ideally split between Dirty Boxing and Misfits Boxing. However, the sticking point is determining which promotion hosts the first bout.

“We`ve pursued him and made substantial offers for bare knuckle,” Perry stated in a recent interview. “He`s unwilling to do bare knuckle. If it`s a one-and-one deal, the first fight should be in Dirty Boxing. Why should I have to go there first?” Perry expressed frustration, saying, “They expect me to travel to Liverpool in the summer for something, but they don`t grasp the specifics. Till just thinks he can dictate terms.”

Perry questioned Till`s recent activity: “Where has he been for a couple years? Now he`s returned and had a couple fights – well, one actual fight against Darren Stewart; what was that other one [against Anthony Taylor]?” Perry added confidently, “Till can get this fight whenever he wants.”

Recalling a past interaction, Perry quipped, “I wanted to spar, and he wanted to go to the spa and get a massage. Well, I`ll give your face a massage with these small Dirty Boxing gloves.”

Perry went on to propose making Till the figurehead of Dirty Boxing, a role Perry currently occupies. “I`m promoting my own venture here,” he explained. “I have my own organization and promotion, and it means more for both Till and me if he fights under my banner. If he succeeds, he could take over and become the face of Dirty Boxing. But he`s not using his brain, not considering all the possibilities. He`s stuck in the UK eating beans for breakfast! That approach won`t work with me; I`m eating eggs and bacon.”

Darren Till`s Long-Standing Desire to Fight Mike Perry

The first time Till and Perry crossed paths publicly was in the UFC octagon back in October 2017, when Till was on his ascent towards a welterweight title opportunity. The fight never happened then and has since evolved into one of the most complex potential matchups in combat sports history.

In a message earlier this year, Till communicated his position to Perry: “I never refused, my friend… I suggested one boxing fight and one bare-knuckle fight… You and your manager never responded to me and my management, so the delay is on you… If you genuinely want to fight, I`m available.”

Till further detailed his current situation, stating, “You seem more focused on being a promoter right now, whereas I`m training daily without distractions and struggling to find opponents… KSI doesn`t answer, Tommy Fury doesn`t answer… Jake Paul is the same way.”

He concluded his message by challenging Perry: “So, if you truly desire this fight that feels destined to happen, have your manager contact Misfits, and we can make it a co-promotion.”

With Perry`s unique offer now on the table, the possibility of this long-awaited clash finally happening remains, contingent on whether they can bridge the gap in negotiations and agree on the terms to settle their intense rivalry.
