Dana White, the president of the UFC, is known to be a very busy individual, constantly juggling multiple priorities. Social media followers are well aware of his packed schedule.
He is typically seen promoting UFC events and sharing highlights across his various social media platforms.
Beyond his major business dealings for the mixed martial arts organization, White often spends his leisure time engaging in another type of activity: gambling.
The head of the UFC is famously passionate about gambling, with numerous anecdotes circulating about his fondness for it.
Fans reacted strongly when White recently announced his participation in a high-stakes tournament centered around his preferred game, Baccarat.
Dana White Announces Tournament Loss and Giveaway
In a recent social media post, Dana White revealed that the $10 million Baccarat tournament in Las Vegas did not go in his favor.
Anyone familiar with the businessman`s competitive nature knows that this loss will not deter him from future games. Winning is clearly a strong motivator for the 55-year-old.
However, White did gain something from his tournament participation: exclusive gifts that came with the invitation to compete.
Although the specifics are still being planned, White intends to give away two of these invitation gifts to lucky fans. This giveaway is designed to encourage customer loyalty and engagement.
In a video shared on April 5th, the UFC president showcased the valuable and rare items. He encouraged fans to monitor his page for updates on how to enter for a chance to win.
“What’s up everybody,” White stated in the video. “So, I played in the Baccarat tournament at the MGM Mansions. I lost, I’m out. I’m a loser, but you’re not. So this is what they gave us in the invitations. That’s a $1000 bill from like 1934, and this is an ounce and a half of gold. So, two of you will have the opportunity to win this. I haven’t figured out how I’m gonna do it yet, but stay tuned.”
Dana White`s Judgement on Torrez Finney
Despite his loss in the Baccarat tournament, Dana White`s judgment was proven correct in another area: his assessment of Torrez Finney.
Despite multiple victories on Dana White’s Contender Series, the UFC president was initially hesitant to sign Finney due to his fighting style.
In his UFC debut, the undefeated middleweight set a UFC record for the fewest strikes landed by a decision winner in middleweight history.
Fans had previously criticized White for not signing Finney sooner, but after his debut performance in the Octagon, many fans changed their opinions.
