Bayern Munich is set to welcome Inter Milan for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie this Tuesday. Despite their strong performance in the Bundesliga, Bayern, under manager Vincent Kompany, are currently dealing with a number of injury concerns. The latest setback is Jamal Musiala, who sustained a muscular injury in Friday`s match against Augsburg, ruling him out for both legs of the quarterfinal.
Musiala joins a list of absentees for the first leg, including Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano, and Manuel Neuer. When questioned about the team`s condition, coach Vincent Kompany acknowledged the difficulties. “We are facing a challenging situation,” he stated. “However, we are in the Champions League, and our focus must be forward. The available players are ready to give their all. Those selected to play have consistently trained at a high level and are prepared to contribute. I have confidence in them. I prefer not to dwell on complaints or alter our objectives. The players on the field will be fully committed and have my complete trust.”

Adding to the Bayern news, Thomas Muller has announced his departure from the club at the end of this season. Kompany commented on this, saying, “The immediate focus is on preparing for the Inter match. Muller`s decision deserves respect. His legendary career is immense, and while it`s a significant topic, my priority is to ensure the team is ready for the upcoming game.”
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi also addressed player availability in his pre-match press conference, mentioning doubts around Hakan Calhanoglu and Federico Dimarco. “Bastoni and Calhanoglu trained with the team and are under evaluation, while Dimarco trained separately. Lautaro Martinez, who was initially planned to play only the first half against Parma, played 70 minutes. He is fit and expected to play against Bayern.”
