A former Bellator champion has made a successful return to competition and is clearly aiming for a future with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Recently, several prominent Bellator fighters have transitioned to the UFC, seeking to compete at the highest level of MMA.
Patricio Pitbull is expected to debut at UFC 314 next month, following the path of other former Bellator stars to the Octagon.
Pitbull even appeared alongside his former rival Michael Chandler at a recent press conference, both promoting their upcoming fights at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
On the same night Diego Brandao delivered a spectacular knockout, another former Bellator fighter took a significant step towards joining the UFC ranks.
Yaroslav Amosov Eyes UFC Move After Victory at CFFC 140
Yaroslav Amosov competed at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 140 in Philadelphia, marking his return to the cage after a hiatus since November 2023.
Amosov previously held the Bellator welterweight title, winning it against Douglas Lima in June 2021.
His planned title defense against Michael ‘Venom’ Page was unfortunately cancelled in May of the following year when Amosov withdrew to defend his homeland.
Amosov returned to action with a convincing victory over interim champion Logan Storley before losing his title to Jason Jackson in his last Bellator fight.
The 31-year-old fighter has openly stated his ambition to sign with the UFC and understood the need to build momentum towards this goal.
Facing Curtis Millender, a UFC veteran with five fights, in the main event on Friday night, Amosov quickly defeated his opponent with a first-round submission.
Amosov further emphasized his UFC aspirations by using a UFC mouthpiece during the fight.
Fight fans responded positively to his comeback victory, and Oleksandr Usyk, with whom Amosov fought for Ukraine, also sent congratulations.
Usyk posted on his Instagram story, “With the victory champ,” alongside a photo of Amosov celebrating his win.
One fan commented, “He should be in the UFC today,” while another noted his potential, “31 years old with that record could easily be top 10 in any major promotion.”
Amosov Ready for UFC Competition Now
For Yaroslav Amosov, securing a win after a period of inactivity was crucial, and now, a UFC contract seems to be the next logical step.
Reinier de Ridder followed a similar path after leaving ONE Championship, achieving a quick victory at UAE Warriors before entering the UFC middleweight division.
Having already defeated strong opponents like Lima and Storley, Amosov has demonstrated his high-level skills and, with many years of competition ahead, appears ready to compete in the UFC immediately.
It seems likely that ‘Dynamo’ will soon realize his aspiration to fight in the Octagon.
