This week on the PGA Tour features its sole team competition, the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, set to take place at TPC Louisiana.
Headlining the 160-player field, which pairs up into two-man teams, are defending champions and Ryder Cup partners Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry. They return to defend their title after securing victory last season in a playoff against Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer.
This tournament marks Rory McIlroy`s first appearance since his monumental win at the 2025 Masters, where he achieved the career Grand Slam.
The top 33 teams, including ties, after the initial 36 holes will qualify for the final two rounds. The championship will be decided over two rounds of foursomes (alternate shot) and two rounds of four-ball (best ball). The winning duo will each receive $1,329,400 and 400 FedEx Cup points.
Since adopting the two-man format in 2017, the event has encouraged pairings based on shared origins like home countries, colleges, or neighborhoods. The standing tournament scoring record of 30-under 258 was set in 2023 by Nick Hardy and Davis Riley.
