2025 NBA Draft: Pre-Lottery First- and Second-Round Pick Order

Sports news ยป 2025 NBA Draft: Pre-Lottery First- and Second-Round Pick Order

The NBA Draft Lottery is scheduled to take place on Monday. With the participating teams now known, a clearer picture of the preliminary pick order for the 2025 draft, set for June 25-26, has emerged.

Based on their regular season performance, the Utah Jazz (17-65), Washington Wizards (18-64), and Charlotte Hornets (19-63) each possess the highest probability, at 14%, for landing the first overall selection. They are followed by the New Orleans Pelicans (21-61) with a 12.5% chance and the Philadelphia 76ers (24-58) with a 10.5% chance. This marks the second consecutive year the Wizards have the best odds for the top pick, though it was the Atlanta Hawks who secured the first pick in 2024 and drafted forward Zaccharie Risacher.

Historically, the Wizards last held the No. 1 pick in 2010, selecting John Wall. The Hornets` most recent top selection was Larry Johnson in the 1991 draft. The Jazz are one of only six NBA franchises that have never won the highly sought-after No. 1 spot.

With potential franchise-altering talents like Duke`s Cooper Flagg expected to be available, here is the current projected list of draft picks before the lottery drawing.
